The Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency, in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Economy, during 2020 and 2021 will organize a cycle of free workshops  titled “How to comply with the GDPR” in the framework of ARC project, and with the aim of supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises in harmonizing business processes with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation. Co-operation was formalized by an agreement signed by AZOP Director Zdravko Vukic and HGK President Luka Burilovic.

“We believe that this campaign, which will be carried out jointly, will make it easier for members of the Croatian Chamber of Economy to understand  data protection legal framwork and to adapt business processes to the provisions of the GDPR. In this way, small and medium-sized entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to acquire the necessary knowledge and avoid situations where, due to lack of information, they could infringe the provisions of the GDPR and thus bear appropriate sanctions, such as administrative fines and other corrective measures. One of the most important tasks of the Agency, as the national supervisory authority responsible for monitoring the application of the General Data Protection Regulation in the Republic of Croatia, is to promote awareness and understanding of all stakeholders on rules, risks, safeguards and rights related to the processing of personal data. Investing in compliance with the General Regulation is an investment which will enable entrepreneurs to improve their business operations and gain trust of their clients and customers," Zdravko Vukic, director of Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency.
